During newborn/toddler phases of development, children often process media through the Video Deficit Effect. Essentially, this means that children are not able to seperate television from reality. Whenever you sit your children down to watch a T.V. show, use the discussion questions under the "Recommendations" page in order to engage conversation with your child and help them process the media that they are consuming. Adding conversation to screen time can help give your children the necessary social and emotional skills needed during this period of development.
